Squeezing every ounce of “umph” out of every penny has always been a necessity around our home, but as of late, it’s become more like an obsession. As more and more coal powered electric plants are being shut down, energy prices are rising at an alarming rate; and without a huge shift in the US energy policy we can logically expect the prices to continue to rise. This reality brings a new level of scrutiny to our family’s energy usage, forcing us to continually evaluate how we spend our hard earned green-backs and figure out better ways to save while trying to keep our standard of living at a comfortable level.
That brings us to today’s topic- LED lighting VS standard incandescent light bulbs.
Watch below, but be prepared to be blown away!
So clearly, for our family at least; LED WINS… by A LOT! If by today’s energy prices we’d be saving around $2,000 in the next 20 years, what would happen if energy prices rose at say 10% per year? As more power plants are forced to shut down how much would the savings be worth then?
